Install Law & Guidance Manual on Your Desktop

Please Uninstall Previous Versions –
If you have a version of the Law Manual already on your desktop, you will need to uninstall it. 
Go to Control Panel and find Programs.  The Law Manual will be shown as the Texas Banking Department Law Manual.  Select this program to Uninstall.

Install September 2011 Version –
Select the icon or link at the bottom of this page.
Select the Save button from the File Download box.
Select the Save button from the Save As window.
When download is complete select the Open button.
Select Allow from the Internet Explorer Security box.
Double Click the Setup.exe — Application file.
Select Yes from the User Account Control box.
Install Shield Wizard will appear.
Click Next.
Click Yes to agree to the End User License Provision.
The File Locator Screen will appear.  No need to change the file location so Click Next.
Click Install.  (Be patient, it may take a minute to let you know it is installing)
When Install is complete, click on Finish.
Minimizing windows may be necessary to see the desktop icons.
A generic icon may appear on your desktop labeled Texas Department.
Double click on the Icon to open the Law Manual.  This is a little different format than the web version however all navigation is still performed on the left side of the screen.
After you reboot the Blue/Grey Icon in the shape of Texas that appears below will appear on your desktop.
